ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week's action with a 7-31-3-0 record (5-12-2-0 at home, 2-19-1-0 on the road, 3-3 in overtime, 0-0 in shootouts) and in sixth place in the CENTRAL DIVISION...After collecting three of a possible four points on an EAST DIVISION road trip, KOOTENAY will return home to host REGINA January 8 before visiting LETHBRIDGE January 9.

ROSTER UPDATE: KOOTENAY is currently carrying 24 players (two goaltenders, eight defensemen and 14 forwards)...The ICE roster is made up of three 1995-born players, two 1996-born players, ten 1997-born players, eight 1998-born players and one 1999-born player...KOOTENAY has ten first-year players on its roster.

2 FOR 1 TUESDAYS: KOOTENAY ICE 2 FOR 1 TUESDAYS are back!...At every Tuesday regular season home game, fans can enjoy 2 FOR 1 deals on walk-up tickets and select concession items from COYOTE JACK'S...The next 2 FOR 1 TUESDAY is January 12 when the ICE host the SASKATOON BLADES.

COLLEGE NIGHTS: COLLEGE OF THE ROCKIES students can take advantage of discounted ticket and concession packages at select KOOTENAY ICE home games with COLLEGE NIGHTS...Prices range from $12.00 for a game ticket to $20.00 for a ticket and meal combo...The next COLLEGE NIGHT is Friday, January 22 when the ICE host SPOKANE...For more information or to purchase tickets, contact the CAMPUS LIFE DEPARTMENT at the COLLEGE OF THE ROCKIES.

DID YOU KNOW: JESSE ZAHARICHUK recorded a career high three points in one game January 3 in SWIFT CURRENT (2-1-3)...CALE FLEURY played in his 100th career game January 3 against the BRONCOS...ZAK ZBOROSKY scored his first career hat-trick and first career short-handed goal January 2 at MOOSE JAW...ZBOROSKY (4-4-8) and forward MATT ALFARO (3-6-9) have both recorded points in six of the last seven games...RIVER BEATTIE is six appearances shy of 100 games played...Former KOOTENAY goaltender JEFF GLASS (DYNAMO MINSK) was the winning goaltender for TEAM CANADA in the final of the 2015 SPENGLER CUP December 31 in SWITZERLAND (31 saves)...ICE prospect LINDEN BABCOCK (CALGARY AAA FLAMES) scored the winning goal in the final of the MAC'S MIDGET TOURNAMENT January 1 in CALGARY, as the FLAMES defeated the LLOYDMINSTER AAA BOBCATS 2-1...KOOTENAY had eight prospects playing in the tournament.

TRANSACTIONS / INJURIES: KOOTENAY acquired Forward PRESTEN KOPECK (January 26, 1995), Defenseman RYAN POULIOT (May 26, 1998), the rights to Forward TANNER SIDAWAY (April 29, 1999), and second and third round picks in the 2016 WHL BANTAM DRAFT from the RED DEER REBELS in exchange for Forward LUKE PHILP (November 6, 1995) January 3...The ICE then acquired Forward RILEY WHITTINGHAM (May 1, 1995) and a fourth round pick in the 2017 WHL BANTAM DRAFT from the SPOKANE CHIEFS for KOPECK January 4...KOOTENAY acquired a fifth round selection in the 2017 WHL BANTAM DRAFT from the SEATTLE THUNDERBIRDS in exchange for Defenseman BRYAN ALLBEE (July 11, 1997) January 4...Forward VINCE LOSCHIAVO will be out of the KOOTENAY lineup day to day with a lower body injury...Forward JAEDON DESCHENEAU will be out of the ICE lineup indefinitely with an upper body injury.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 41 games of the 2014-15 season the ICE were 21-19-0-1, after 42 games 21-20-0-1 and after 43 games 21-21-0-1.
