Cranbrook, BC - Jeff Chynoweth, General Manager of the Kootenay ICE Hockey Club today announced the Club has acquired 20 year-old Forward Riley Whittingham and a fourth round pick in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft from the Spokane Chiefs in exchange for Forward Presten Kopeck.

"Riley Whittingham is a big-bodied winger who adds grit and a proven history of scoring goals to our forward corps. He will assume a prominent role among our forward group in addition to mentoring our younger players. This deal also allows us to continue acquiring picks in upcoming WHL Bantam Drafts as we build for the future," added Chynoweth.

Riley Whittingham was a third round selection by the Spokane Chiefs in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft. In 228 career WHL games, all with Spokane, Whittingham has recorded 95 career points (46-49-95) and 295 penalty minutes.

The ICE are now carrying 25 players (two Goaltenders, nine Defensemen and 14 Forwards).
