Weekend Wrap-Up

The Sting picked up 6 of a possible 6 points last week, completing the weekend sweep with a 2-1 win over Owen Sound on Sunday evening. The team is currently 5th in the Western Conference standings, sporting a 21-15-2-2 record.

On Friday night, World Junior Gold Medalist Connor McDavid made his return to the OHL at the RBC Centre. McDavid scored a highlight-reel goal in the game, but ultimately came up short in solidifying a win for the Otters. Rookie, Jordan Kyrou scored two goals in the final 3:30 of the game to tie it up at 3's, before Chychrun batted home a loose puck with 2.7 seconds on the clock to give Sarnia the win. Full recap

Jakob Chychrun scored the game winner with three seconds to go in a 4-3 Sting win over the visiting Otters.

The Sting topped reigning OHL Champions, Guelph Storm on Saturday night at the RBC Centre. Midway through the 3rd, rookie defenseman Jakob Chychrun scored on a spectacular end-to-end rush, spreading the margin for the Sting. The final score was 5-3. Full recap

Davis Brown scored two goals in a 5-3 Sting win over the visiting Storm.

Sunday's game in Owen Sound was originally scheduled to be played on Friday night, but had been postponed due to inclement weather and travel conditions. Dupuis made 41 saves in the win, ultimately completing the weekend sweep for the Sting. Full recap
