DES MOINES, IA, December 1, 2010- Guard Kyle Weaver scored 32 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead the Iowa Energy past rival Sioux Falls 120-114 Wednesday night in Des Moines.
Iowa jumped out to a 63-55 halftime lead as Weaver notched 18 points before the break. The Energy extended their lead to 92-74 at the end of the 3rd quarter as forward Michael Haynes tipped in a missed shot at the buzzer.
Sioux Falls made a charge in the 4th quarter as a Chris McCray narrowed the lead to four points late in the fourth after making three consecutive free throws. Iowa put the game away with a pair of free throws late to help maintain their lead in the NBA D-League's Eastern Conference.
Forward Connor Atchley added 19 points and 6 rebounds for Iowa, while guard Curtis Stinson had 12 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists.
Sioux Falls was led by reserve Sean Marshall, who finished with 22 points. Miami HEAT assignee Dexter Pittman added 18 points and 10 rebounds on the night.
Iowa shot 56.5% from the field on the night while holding Sioux Falls to just 42.9% from the field.
