Bighorns Stay Perfect with 127-117 Win Over Idaho

RENO, Nev.- Reno trailed by a bucket through three quarters Wednesday, before Aaron Miles and Marcus Landry combined for 25 fourth-quarter points to lift the Bighorns to a 127-117 victory over the Idaho Stampede in the Reno Events Center.

The win caps a perfect 5-0 season-opening stretch at home for the Bighorns, who remain the lone unbeaten team in the NBA Development League. Reno is off to its best start in franchise history.

Patrick Ewing, Jr. led five Bighorns in double figures with 24 points on the day. Miles collected a double-double with 23 points and 11 assists, while Landry chipped-in 21 points, helped by three three-point field goals. Reno received a boost off the bench from Chris Davis, who scored 17 points and grabbed seven boards in 26 minutes. Hassan Whiteside, who joined the Bighorns this week on an NBA assignment from the Sacramento Kings, made his NBA D-League debut with six points, two rebounds and a game-high four blocked shots.

Salim Stoudamire connected on 8-of-13 tries from the floor on his way to a team-high 23 points for the Stampede. Carlos Wheeler added 20 points and seven boards, while Luke Jackson hit 10-of-11 free-throw attempts en route to 20 points off the Idaho bench.

The lead changed hands 20 times on the day, with both teams holding a double-digit advantage in the contest.

Reno now hits the road for the first time this season, with a weekend trip through the Dakotas. First up, the Bighorns will face the Dakota Wizards on Friday night.
