MAVERICKS ASSIGN BEAUBOIS, JONES TO NBA D-LEAGUE AFFILIATE TEXAS LEGENDS

The Dallas Mavericks have assigned guards Rodrigue Beaubois and Dominique Jones to the Texas Legends, the Mavericks' NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced yesterday. The assignment marks the 10th and 11th times in the 2010-11 season an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate, and it is the first assignment for both players. Last season as a rookie, Beaubois saw action in 56 regular-season games, averaging 7.1 points and 1.4 rebounds in 12.5 minutes. Jones, a rookie out of South Florida, has played in nine regular-season games for Dallas.

76ERS ASSIGN BRACKINS TO NBA D-LEAGUE AFFILIATE SPRINGFIELD ARMOR

Philadelphia 76ers forward Craig Brackins was assigned to the Springfield Armor, the 76ers' NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced yesterday. The assignment marks the 12th time in the 2010-11 season an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate, and it is the first assignment for Brackins, a rookie out of Iowa State. Brackins (6-10, 230) has appeared in one regular-season game for Philadelphia this year, scoring six points in 10 minutes against Toronto on Nov. 24. In five preseason games, Brackins averaged 4.8 points in 13.4 minutes per game.

ORLANDO ASSIGNS ORTON TO NBA D-LEAGUE AFFILIATE NEW MEXICO THUNDERBIRDS

Orlando Magic center Daniel Orton was assigned to the New Mexico Thunderbirds, the Magic's NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced today. The assignment marks the 13th time in the 2010-11 season an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate, and it is the first assignment for Orton, a rookie out of Kentucky. Orton (6-10, 255) hasn't appeared in any games with the Magic this season, but averaged 3.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in five NBA Summer League games.

The Texas Legends set a D-League record with 84 points in the first half of their 135-112 win over the Austin Toros. Dallas Mavericks assignee Dominique Jones led the way with 25 points in his D-League debut. Joe Alexander added 24 points and 11 rebounds for the Legends. Lance Thomas led Austin with 21 points.

Utah's starting backcourt of Andre Ingram and Kevin Kruger combined for 46 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists in a 96-93 win over Bakersfield. Trey Johnson led Bakersfield with 25 points.

ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENTS: A look at NBA D-League Alumni in last night's NBA games:

20 players with NBA D-League experience competed in seven NBA games last night, three as starters.

Orlando's Brandon Bass came off the bench to score nine points for Orlando in a win over Detroit.
