Utah Gets Second Straight Win

BAKERSFIELD, November 30, 2010 - The Bakersfield Jam battled hard to stay in the game behind Trey Johnson's team-high 25 points but fell short to the Utah Flash 96-93 tonight at the Jam Events Center. Andre Ingram led Utah with 26 points on 3 for 4 three pointers and six rebounds, and Kevin Kruger added 20 points and seven assists.

The game included 11 lead changes and was tied 10 times. Bakersfield hung around to the end and had an opportunity to tie the game with under a minute to go but Kenny Taylor's three-pointer came up short. On the next possession, Utah's Kruger was fouled and sealed the game with two free-throws. Taylor had another look at a three but missed; however, Blakely got the offensive rebound, was fouled, but could not connect on the free-throws. Johnson rebounded the miss and hit a basket at the buzzer to bring the final score to 93-96.

Flash outrebounded the Jam 45 to 34, and had 15 offensive rebounds on the night which resulted in 15 second chance points. Center Brandon Costner finished with 14 points, Orien Greene added 12 points, five rebounds and seven assists, and Lance Allred, who was acquired by the Flash had 12 points off the bench. Utah improves to 2-3 on the season.

Bakersfield's Stephen Dennis finished the game with 22 points off the bench, while shooting 9 for 14. Jeremy Wise added 15 points on 6-10 field goals and 5 assists. The team had 9 blocked shots on the night and scored 48 points in the paint. The Jam dropped their 4th in a row.

The Flash return to Utah to take on the Austin Toros on Friday December 3rd at 7 p.m. at the UCCU Center.
