Timberwolves Assign Flynn to Skyforce

Sioux Falls, S.D. (Dec. 1, 2010) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today the assignment of Minnesota Timberwolves guard Jonny Flynn. He becomes the third Timberwolves player assigned to the Skyforce in their NBA Development League history, joining Chris Richard (07-08) and Nathan Jawai (09-10). He is expected to make his debut on Friday night at home against the Iowa Energy. The active roster now stands at 12 players.

Flynn, who will see game action for the first time since having hip surgery in July, averaged 13.5 points and 4.4 assists in 81 games (all starts) last season. The 6-0, 195-pound second-year player was named the NBA's T-Mobile Rookie of the Month for July 2009 after averaging 15.0 points and 7.4 assists while shooting 48.0 percent (24-of-50) from the field, 58.3 percent (7-of-12) from the 3-point line and 90 percent (20-of-22) from the free throw line in five summer league contests. He was drafted by the Timberwolves in the first round (6th overall) of the 2009 NBA Draft after finishing his collegiate career ranked 38th in scoring (1,211) and seventh in assists (439) in Syracuse history.
