Stampede Drop First Game of Road Trip

RENO, Nevada, December 1, 2010 - The Idaho Stampede allowed 36 fourth quarter points in losing their first road game of the season to the Reno Bighorns (5-0) 127-117 in the Reno Events Center on Wednesday afternoon.

The Stampede (0-4) had three players go for 20 or more points, with Salim Stoudamire leading the way with 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Carlos Wheeler, seeing his first action as a Stampeder, added 20 points and seven rebounds and Luke Jackson came off the bench to score 20 points, add a team-high six assists and make 10-of-11 free throws.

Joining Wheeler in the starting lineup for his first ever game as a Stampeder was Dontell Jefferson, who had 15 points and five assists. Willie Jenkins scored double-digit points (14) for the fourth straight game off the bench.

Reno was led by Patrick Ewing, Jr. (24 points, eight rebounds, five steals), Aaron Miles (23 points, 11 assists, seven rebounds) and Marcus Landry (21 points, 3-6 3FG) in the comeback win.

The Stampede now head to Bakersfield, Calif. to play a three-game set with the Jam beginning Dec. 3 at 8 p.m. (MT).
