February 4, 2004 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2)
Milwaukee Wave News Release

(Milwaukee, WI) Six players from the Milwaukee Wave have been chosen to play in the 2004 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) All-Star Game Sunday, February 29, 1:05 PM at Family Arena in St. Charles, MO. In addition, Wave Coach Keith Tozer, who has guided Milwaukee to a league best 17-4 mark thus far (the best 21-game start in Wave history) is just one win / one Baltimore loss during this week's action from clinching the U.S. coaching assignment in the game that will pit the MISL U.S. All-Stars against the MISL International All-Stars in the showcase event. Should Milwaukee defeat either Kansas City tomorrow night at U.S. Cellular Arena (Thursday, February 5, 7:05 PM) or Philadelphia Sunday at U.S. Cellular Arena (February 8, 1:05 PM) – or the Blast (17-6) lose at either Kansas City (today) or Philadelphia (Saturday) – Tozer would earn his eighth all-star coaching assignment.

Headlining the Wave's all-star selections is forward Greg Howes, the league's current leading scorer (29 goals + 21 assists = 50 points). The 26 year old, fourth-year pro from Oregon State will be making his second consecutive all-star appearance. The "Howitzer," who led both the Wave indoor and Wave United outdoor teams in scoring each of the respective past seasons is considered by many to be the most dynamic indoor-outdoor player in all of North American professional soccer

Joining Howes for the second straight year as all-star teammates are Todd and Troy Dusosky. The 27-year old "Twin Tandem" from Anoka, MN continues to be the league's most effective brother combination on both ends of the field. Forward Todd will be making his second appearance; he's currently second on the Wave and fourth in the league with 37 points (16 goals + 21 assists). Meanwhile, defender Troy, who will be making his third appearance, has been a key contributor both offensively (6 goals + 7 assists = 13 points) and defensively (25 blocks).

Forward Michael King, the Wave's all-time leading scorer, returns to the all-star game for the first time since 2002. The 40-year old London, England native (who is a naturalized U.S. citizen) is having an excellent campaign thus far with 30 points (19 goals + 11 assists) to rank 12th on the MISL scoring list. The former Fairleigh Dickenson star, who has spent 11-of-his-18 indoor seasons with the Wave, will be making his eighth all-star appearance.

Defender Chris Morman rounds out the Wave's U.S. all-star contingent with his third selection to the "mid-season" classic. The 26-year old Morman, who made two previous all-star appearances as a member of the now inactive Harrisburg Heat has enjoyed a fine first season in Milwaukee compiling 10 goals and 21 blocks. The ex-University of South Carolina star was acquired by the Wave as part of last summer's block-bluster trade that sent legendary goalkeeper Victor Nogueira to the San Diego Sockers.

Defender Lovelace Ackah will also be making his third all-star appearance as a member of the MISL International squad. Now in his fifth season, the 27-year old Kumasi, Ghana native continues to be one of the league's premier defensive stoppers and has helped Milwaukee limit opponents to a league-low 4.3 points per game. The "Love Machine" has also contributed 4 points (2 goals + 2 assists) and tops the Wave with 35 blocks.

The Wave's all-star contingent also includes Wave United Coach Art Kramer, who will serve as the analyst / color commentator for the All-Star Game telecast. Kramer, who served as Tozer's assistant coach the past six seasons, returns to the broadcast booth after helping Tozer guide the Western Conference squad in last year's game in Milwaukee. A three-time all-star during his playing days, Kramer will be taking part in his tenth all-star telecast.

The complete squads for both the U.S. and International teams will be announced later today. Fans can vote online for starters beginning Friday, February 6 thru Sunday, February 22 by going to the MISL website (www.misl.net) or individual team websites, including the Wave website at www.milwaukeewave.com.
