Windsor Spitfires News Release
(Windsor, ON) - The trucks are on their way to Flint, carrying more than 65,000 bottles of water donated by the citizens of Windsor-Essex County and many generous local businesses.
"We started this drive about 50 hours ago," Spitfires spokesman Nathan Sellon said. "Donations came right up until the noon deadline today. When you average out how many bottles came in per hour, it's staggering. We're so grateful to everyone that stepped up."
A big thanks also goes out to the Leamington Flyers, who were a great help in wrapping and loading nearly 40 skids of water this morning, and also Abe Fehr, owner of Uni-Fab in Leamington, who is providing transportation to Flint.
