Washington Wizards Assign Ndiaye to Dakota

Bismarck, N.D. (Jan. 6, 2011) - The Dakota Wizards announced today the assignment of Washington Wizards center Hamady N'Diaye . He becomes the first Wahington Wizards player assigned to the Dakota Wizards in their NBA Development League history. He is expected to make his debut Friday night in Maine against the Red Claws. The active roster now stands at 10 players.

N'Diaye (7-0, 235) was selected in the second round (56th overall) of the 2010 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves, and was traded to Washington in a draft-night trade. He has appeared in four games this season for Washington.

The rookie from Rutgers, set the school record for career blocks with 358 in his four years at the Big East school. N'Diaye was named the Big East Defensive Player of the year as a senior in 2009-10 and led the conference and was ranked third nationally with 4.5 blocks per game. He also averaged 9.4 points and 7.1 rebounds during his senior year.

The Wizards are in action tonight against the Maine Red Claws at 6:00 p.m. at The Expo in Portland, ME. Season tickets and 5-ticket flex packs for the 2010-11 season are on sale.
