Miami Heat Reassigns Pittman to NBA D-League Affiliate Sioux Falls Skyforce

NEW YORK, Jan. 6, 2011 ‚¬" Miami Heat center Dexter Pittman was reassigned to the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the Heat ‚¬â„¢s NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced today. The assignment marks the 27th time in the 2010-11 season an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate, and it is the second assignment for Pittman, a rookie out of Texas.

Pittman (6-11, 308) was first assigned to Sioux Falls on Nov. 26, and averaged 16.6 points and 9.0 rebounds in eight games. He has not appeared in any regular season games for the Heat this season.

Miami selected Pittman in the second round (32nd overall) in the 2010 NBA Draft. Over a four-year career at Texas, Pittman averaged 6.6 points and 4.0 rebounds in 134 games, setting the school ‚¬â„¢s all-time record for career field goal percentage (.623). A two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection, Pittman also ranks eighth on the Longhorns ‚¬â„¢ career blocked shots list (124).
