
Austin Toros Acquire Aubrey Coleman and Leo Lyons

Austin, TX Jan. 6, 2010 - The Austin Toros today announced they have acquired Aubrey Coleman, 6-4, 200 pound guard and Leo Lyons, 6-9, 244 pound forward. The Toros acquired Coleman and Lyons after waiving Thomas Gardner and Dominique Archie due to injuries. Coleman and Lyons will appear in their first game with the Toros on Friday, January 7.
Coleman, 23, recently played in the Turkish Basketball League on the Aliaga Petkim team where he averaged 16.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3 steals per game, shooting 52 percent from the field. He also played for the New Orleans Hornets in the NBA 2010 Summer League. He averaged 11.4 points and three rebounds in five games. Coleman attended the University of Houston and averaged 25.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and three steals in his senior year (2009-10). In 2010, he was selected to the NABC All-District 11 First Team, the C-USA Championship All-Tournament Team and the 2009-10 All-Conference USA First Team. His junior year (2008-09), Coleman was named the 2009 C-USA Newcomer of the Year and was selected to the NABC All-District 11 First Team and the USBWA All-District VII Team. On December 6, 2010, he was named the nation's leading scorer.
Lyons, 23, recently returned from Europe where he played with Altshuler Saham Galil Gilboa. He averaged 6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals in the Euroleague and 3.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in the Eurocup. During the 2009-10 season, Lyons played on the Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem team averaging 8.4 points and 4.4 rebounds, shooting 59 percent from the field. In the 2009-10 Eurocup, he averaged 5.9 points and 3.8 rebounds in 16 minutes. Lyons attended the University of Missouri and averaged 14.6 points and 6 rebounds his senior year (2008-09). He averaged 13 points and 5.7 rebounds, shooting 58 percent from the field his junior year (2007-08). In 2008, Lyons led the Big 12 Conference in field goal percentage and was ranked 24th in the nation. The media elected Lyons to the 2008 Big 12's All-Improved Team after improving his averages from his sophomore year.
