Washington Wild Things News Release

WASHINGTON, PA - The Washington Wild Things took on the Frontier Greys on August 12 for the second game of a three-game series at CONSOL Energy Park. The Wild Things offense produced 10 runs to help Matt Fraudin earn the victory as Justin D'Alessandro suffered the loss.

Washington's bats were the story of the night in a 10-1 victory over the Greys. Scott Kalamar got the Wild Things offense going in the first inning when he cleared the bases with a three-run homer that scored Andrew Heck and Sam Mende. Mende added his own deep ball in the fourth inning that scored Andrew Heck and Matt Ford.

The Wild Things continued to add runs throughout the game including two RBI singles off the bat of Austin Wobrock. Wobrock would also score when a failed pickoff attempt turned into two errors, allowing him to cross home plate.

The Wild Things bats were not all that was hot on Wednesday night as Fraudin was at his best on the mound for Washington. He pitched solid innings, giving up 3 hits and one run through eight innings to earn his first career win.
