Everett Silvertips News Release
MOOSE JAW, SK - The Moose Jaw Warriors turned a 2-2 game after two periods into a 5-2 win over the Everett Silvertips Tuesday night at Mosaic Place. Everett held a 2-0 lead before Moose Jaw scored the game's last five goals to drop the Silvertips to 1-2 on their East Division road trip.
Landon Oslanski and Ryan Murray lit the lamp early in the second period to give the 'Tips a 2-0 lead before the Warriors climbed out of the hole. Moose Jaw scored three powerplay goals on seven opportunities, while the Silvertips were 1 for 4.
The first period featured plenty of flow between the teams and two successful penalty kills for Everett as the game remained scoreless. It didn't take long for the scoring to pick up in the second frame however, as the 'Tips took the lead just 44 seconds in. After a Silvertips near-miss in front, Landon Oslanski sent a wrist shot through traffic and in from the point for his fifth goal of the season. Just over a minute later, Everett won a draw on the powerplay to set up a chance for Ryan Murray, who wired a slapshot into the top corner to make it 2-0 Everett.
Moose Jaw cut into the lead midway through the period when Morgan Reilly's centering feed deflected off Oslanski's skate and past Daniel Cotton to make it a 2-1 game. The Warriors then had a 3-on-2 rush late in the second when the rebound of Torrin White's shot bounced in off Jordan Wyton's leg and the game was tied after two.
White then snuck a rebound shot through Cotton's five-hole on the powerplay early in the third to put Moose Jaw ahead to stay. Brayden Point scored on another rebound midway through the frame after being robbed by Cotton on his first chance in front, and then White's second goal of the night on the powerplay at 15:23 capped off the 5-2 Warriors win.
Daniel Cotton made 28 saves on 33 shots as Everett was outshot 33-23. Justin Paulic finished with 21 saves in the win for Moose Jaw.
The Silvertips will next continue on to Swift Current, where they are set to face the Broncos Wednesday night at 6:00 pm Pacific time at Credit Union i-Plex. Pregame coverage starts at 5:30 on Fox Sports 1380 AM.
After completing the road trip next weekend, the 'Tips will return home on October 26 to face the Spokane Chiefs and then host the Seattle Thunderbirds for our fourth annual "Pink the Rink" game on October 27.
