Prince George, BC - Zane Jones scored twice as the Calgary Hitmen opened a three game BC Division road trip with a 5-0 win over the Prince George Cougars Tuesday night at CN Centre.
Brady Brassart, Jaynen Rissling and Jake Virtanen added singles while Chris Driedger made 30 saves for his fourth career shutout.
Brooks Macek had four assists to extend his point scoring streak to 10 games tying a career high.
The Hitmen outshot the Cougars 53-30 breaking a franchise record in the process for most shots in a single period with 27 in the second period.
Calgary improves to 7-1-1-1, and pulls into a tie for top spot in the Eastern Conference with Prince Albert at 16 points.
The Hitmen continue their road swing Thursday night in Victoria before heading to Vancouver on Saturday.
