VANCOUVER, BC - The Vancouver Giants are pleased to announce that 2012 2nd round bantam draft pick, Jakob Stukel, has been selected to represent British Columbia at the upcoming Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup in Calgary from November 1-4.

"We are very excited for Jakob" stated Giants Executive VP and General Manager Scott Bonner. "We feel he's a very special player and will play a prominent role in our future."

Stukel is a product of Cloverdale Minor Hockey, where last year he tallied 25 goals, 37 assists and 62 points in just 20 games.

This season, the 5'9, 155lbs Surrey native is suiting up with the Valley West Hawks of the BC Major Midget League. So far, through just 8 games, he leads the team with 9 goals (2nd in the league) and is tied for 2nd on the team with 10 points.

Adam Musil, younger brother of current Giants defenseman David Musil, will also play for BC alongside Jakob Stukel.

Last year, current Giants forward Thomas Foster (2011 1st round bantam draft pick, from Slave Lake, Alberta) helped with the gold medal for Team Alberta.
