Warriors Hit the Road for Two-Game Weekday Trip to Alberta

Moose Jaw Warriors News Release

The Moose Jaw Warriors will be looking to avenge their only loss in the past month when they head into Lethbridge on Tuesday.

Moose Jaw squares off with the Hurricanes to open up a two-game road trip to Alberta this week.

"We're playing good hockey, winning games and it's going to be a fun road trip," Warriors forward Ryder Korczak.

The Warriors lost 2-1 to the Hurricanes at Mosaic Place last Wednesday, but bounced back with two wins over the weekend, giving them victories in ten of their last 11 games.

Moose Jaw has also won five straight road games.

Going into Tuesday's matchup with Lethbridge, Korczak said the Warriors know what adjustments they need to make.

"Last week, we didn't have a strong start, but we did finish strong, so our focus going into [Tuesday] is a strong start," he said.

Warriors head coach Mark O'Leary agreed that Moose Jaw needs to come out of the gate ready to play.

"Our fast starts really sets the tone with how we play," he said. "When the puck's dropped, we get to races-and-battles right off the hop and when we do that, we feel good about ourselves and then our skill can take over from there."

This is the fourth meeting of the season between the Warriors and Hurricanes. The Warriors are 2-1 so far in the season series, including a 4-1 win in Lethbridge during their only trip to ENMAX Centre back in November.

Korczak said the Warriors need to get to their game as early as possible in the game.

"Moving our feet and executing bases and getting shots on net is the biggest thing," he said.

After losing to Lethbridge last Wednesday, the Warriors rebounded with wins over Prince Albert and Calgary.

O'Leary said that shows the resiliency of the team, which has been their trademark all season long.

"Whether it was just one loss or a tough outing, they bounce back real quick," he said. "We got back to what we do well, it was puck management, it was much better and we were on the right side of the puck most of the night."

The Warriors will look to carry that over into Tuesday night's meeting with the Hurricanes.

Moose Jaw continues the road trip on Wednesday in Calgary against the Hitmen.

Puck drops on both games at 8 p.m. Saskatchewan time. Tune into all the action on Country 100, starting with the Pre-Game Show at 7:40 p.m.
