The Americans will wrap up a four-game road stretch tonight against the Thunderbirds. It will be the seventh meeting in a 14-game season series between the two teams. With a 0-4-2-0 record against Seattle, the Thunderbirds are the only US Division team the Americans have yet to defeat this season.
Jordan Gustafson has the most goals in the head-to-head series with seven plus two assists. Ethan Ernst, Marc Lajoie, and Parker Bell each have two goals against Seattle for the Americans.
The Americans most recently played last Saturday in Kelowna as they fell 5-4 in overtime to the Rockets.
After a scoreless first period, Kelowna opened scoring with a penalty shot 1:29 into the second frame. Dwayne Jean Jr. tied the game for Tri-City mid-period followed by a power play goal from Lukas Dragicevic to take the lead. Tri-City put up a season-high 19 shots in the second period. Sam Huo extended the lead to 3-1 early into the final frame with a shorthanded goal. Huo recorded a second goal later in the periood for his 100th career point, 85 of which have came with Tri-City. The Rockets made a comeback with two power play goals and a tying goal after pulling their goaltender to send the game to overtime. Pavel Novak completed a hat trick with the game-winning goal for Kelowna 1:00 into overtime. Tomas Suchanek played the full game in net for Tri-City turning aside 36 of 41 shots.
Tri-City collected three points in the playoff standings through their three games in B.C., they will look to wrap up the road trip tonight with a victory over the Thunderbirds.
