Bounce Back

After suffering just their first regulation loss of 2022, the Winterhawks have a chance to return to winning ways against the Chiefs tonight. Saturday night saw an inspired Spokane effort in front of a rookie netminder, who picked up the win in his first start as they held off Portland's comeback effort.

Despite the defeat, Portland has outscored Spokane 26-7 through their last four meetings and enters tonight's game with three of the WHL's top 15 scorers during the first two months of 2022 (Hanas, Kozak, Stefan). As they wrap up a playoff-esque run of games, look for the high-flying Hawks to shine once more in Spokane.

First of Four

A big week awaits the Hawks with four games (including tonight) between now and Sunday. After tonight, Portland heads to Tri-City on Friday to take on the Americans, then returns home for Black Hockey History Night on Saturday against Seattle and the final regular-season matchup with Spokane on Sunday. It's sure to be an exciting run of games, highlighted by another spectacular Saturday night against Seattle!
