Warriors Blow out Tired Hitmen

Moose Jaw, SK - Playing their fourth game in five days the Calgary Hitmen fell 8-2 to the Warriors in Moose Jaw on Wednesday night at Mosaic Place.
The Hitmen, now 1-1 on their three game Saskatchewan road trip, received their markers from Riley Fiddler-Schultz who notched his team leading 19th goal of the season and Grayden Siepmann who tallied his fifth.
Fatigue was evident as the Warriors jumped on the visitors building a 2-0 lead just 3:33 into the opening period. Jagger Firkus and Cardel Larson led the Moose Jaw attack with two-goals each while Riley Niven, Maximus Wanner, Lucas Brenton and Ryder Korczak added singles.
Moose Jaw was aided by a four-goal second period which saw the home side send 23 shots to the Hitmen net. On the night the Warriors outshot Calgary 44-20.
Despite the loss, Hitmen forward Blake Stevenson hit a milestone playing in career game 150.
Calgary, 15-13-4-2, will now enjoy a day off before concluding their trip in Swift Current on Friday, Jan. 21. The Hitmen will then return home to host Moose Jaw in a rematch on Sunday, Jan. 23. Game time is 4:00 p.m. at Scotiabank Saddledome.
