Westchester Knicks News Release
FRISCO, TX - The Westchester Knicks (16-12), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, let the fourth quarter slip away to see the Texas Legends (9-19) win 126-108, Wednesday night at Dr. Pepper Arena.
The Knicks were behind just nine at the conclusion of the third quarter and were shooting 51.6-percent for the window but their eight fourth-quarter makes contrasting Texas' 12 and 55.6-percent free-throw line performance prohibited any foreseeable comeback.
Jameel Warney put up his second consecutive 20-point game with a team-leading 25 points in his starting performance over his former team. Zak Irvin was almost seamless on the live ball going 7-for-8 from the field but made just one free-throw of his four opportunities. He registered 15 points and a team-high nine boards. Kadeem Allen ended with 15 points and a game-high nine assists.
Sekou Wiggs tallied 15 points and six assists and Billy Garrett added 14 points including a pair of triples.
Wade Baldwin IV scored a game-high 27 points for Texas. Justin Dentmon (22) and Ray Spalding (20) also led the Legends. Spalding also added 14 rebounds.
The Knicks were outrebounded 48-30 and lost the second chance points battle 27-13.
Westchester shot 50.6-percent which marks the first time this season the team shot above 50-percent resulting in a setback.
The Knicks were once again without their leading scorer, John Jenkins, and lead rebounder, Isaiah Hicks.
The Knicks return to their hardwood on Saturday, January 19 to host the Delaware Blue Coats at 7:00 PM.
