Walker's Three Home Runs Sink Bulls, 12-2

DURHAM - The Durham Bulls gave up four runs in two consecutive innings and suffered a 12-2 loss to the Rochester Red Wings on Saturday at the DBAP.

Adam Brett Walker II homered three times for the Red Wings (24-19), but was struck out in his final two at-bats of the ballgame. Rochester leads the series 2-1.

Jaime Schultz (3-2) took the loss for Durham (18-26), going 3.1 innings with six hits, six earned runs, four walks and five strikeouts. Schultz gave up two of Walker's home runs. He moves into the International League lead for strikeouts, with a season total of 57.

Mikie Mahtook had the Bulls' only multi-hit effort, going 2 for 2 before he was removed in the fourth inning. Luke Maile was 1 for 3 with a run scored, and Jaff Decker scored the Bulls' other run, going 0 for 3 with a pair of walks and a stolen base.

Adam Kolarek was the only Bulls' pitcher to not yield a run, going two-thirds of an inning with one walk. The Bulls and Red Wings combined for 28 strikeouts in the game. Jose Berrios (3-0) earned the win for Rochester, with eight strikeouts in 5.0 innings.
