Today's Game

This afternoon, the Bisons host the Pawtucket Red Sox in the third game of a four-game series from Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). The Herd has won three in a row and are 10-4 over its last 14 contests. Buffalo has also won six of their last seven games at home.

Last Game (BUF 6, PAW 5)

INF Jio Mier delivered the Herd's second walk-off win of the season with his RBI infield single in the bottom of the ninth inning. Pawtucket had stormed back from 5-1 down to tie the game with two outs in the top of the ninth. RHP Drew Hutchison worked seven brilliant innings but did not earn a decision from his seven, two-hit frames.

vs. Pawtucket (4-4)

The Bisons and PawSox have split the first eight games of their 18-game season series with each club winning a pair of games in each other's ballpark. Seven of the eight games have been decided by three runs or less. After this weekend, the teams don't meet until August 12.

Scott Diamond

LHP Scott Diamond making his eighth start of the season tonight, but only his second at Coca-Cola Field. The righty allowed two unearned runs in six innings but took the tough defeat on Sunday in Norfolk. He struck out eight in that start and has now racked up 44 strikeouts to only 32 hits allowed in 38.1 innings this year.

Andy Burns

INF Andy Burns reached base four times last night, going 2-3 with a pair of walks and two RBI. The infielder now has nine RBI in his last eight games played for 13 on the season. He brings a five-game hit streak into today's action with a .381 (8-21) average and five runs.

Devon Travis

INF Devon Travis joined the Bisons on an MLB injury rehab assignment on Thursday. He was held hitless for the first time in six total rehab games (four with Dunedin (A)). He does have seven RBI in those six games, two of which came in his 3-4 performance on Thursday for the Bisons. Travis had left shoulder surgery in late October, 2015.

Junior Lake

OF Junior Lake has 10 hits in his last 22 at-bats for a .455 average since Sunday. The stretch includes three doubles, a home run, three RBI, three walks and four runs scored.

Bisons Bits

Buffalo is 14-10 in games decided by two runs or less...The Bisons have 19 runs in their three-game winning streak. They scored 19 runs the nine games previous to Wednesday.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (21-23) went homer happy in their 9-3 win in Minnesota last night. Toronto hit four out of Target Field, including 3B Josh Donaldson's 10th home run of the season. Former Bisons RHP Aaron Sanchez allowed just two runs in seven innings with no walks and seven strikeouts to earn the win. The Blue Jays take on the Twins again today at 2:10 p.m.
