Walker Blasts 50th Career Aces Home Run Tuesday Night

Reno, NEV. - In game two of three between the Aces and River Cats, the Aces lost by a score of 9-1. Reno was led offensively by Christian Walker who crushed his 50th career home run in an Aces uniform and his 18th of the season. Starting pitcher Matt Koch went 4.2 innings, striking out one Sacramento batter, but allowed eight earned runs on 13 hits. The loss drops the Aces to a record of 61-59 and 8.0 games behind the first place Fresno Grizzlies.

Sacramento tallied nine runs on 16 hits Tuesday night to secure their 48th victory of the season. Former Aces catcher Ronnie Freeman finished 3-for-5 and hit his first triple of the season. Every River Cats starter recorded at least one hit against the Aces pitching staff. Freeman led the way with three hits and four players ended their night with multi-hit performances. The Aces were plagued by a seven-run fifth inning. Braden Shipley and Jared Miller did well limiting the damage, going 4.1 innings in relief while allowing just one earned run. Tomorrow is the last chance to see Reno take on the River Cats. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. and gates will open at 6:05 p.m.

Five Oh: Christian Walker hit his 50th career home run in an Aces uniform tonight. His 50 long balls are tied for the third-most in Aces history. Brandon Allen and Mike Jacobs lead the way with 55 and Peter O'Brien and Christian Walker are tied with 50. Last season, Walker hit 32 home runs en route to a PCL MVP Award.
