From the Notes

15 Looking for 16: The Sounds are on a season-best 15-game winning streak. Last night's 8-4 win tied the franchise-record 15-game winning streak the 1999 team set June 2-20, 1999. Nashville has outscored its opponents 89-48 during the 15-game stretch and have trailed in only three of the last nine games. The 15-game winning streak is the longest current streak in professional baseball.

A Trip Back in Time: Nashville's 15-game winning streak in 1999 went to 15 games on June 20 with a 5-3 win over the New Orleans Zephyrs at Greer Stadium. Ivan Cruz went 2-for-3 with 4 RBI and Aramis Ramirez went 2-for-3. The Sounds' next game was in Tucson, Arizona, on June 22. The Sounds scored two runs in the ninth inning to even the game at 6-6. They took the lead with a run in the top of the 12th, but Tucson scored in the home half to tie it, and then again in the 13th to win it, 8-7.

Dynamite 'Pen: Nashville's bullpen has been nearly unhittable in the month of August. In 13 games in the present month, Nashville relievers are 4-0 with a 0.86 ERA (42.0 IP/4 ER) and are a perfect 8-for-8 in save opportunities. In the 42.0 innings, they have struck out 48 batters and have walked only seven.

RISP Respect: One of the many reasons for the current 15-game winning streak is Nashville's hitting with runners in scoring position. Since the streak started, the Sounds are hitting .323 (61-for-189) with runners in scoring position. On the season, Nashville is hitting .271 with runners in scoring position. BJ Boyd (.330) and Beau Taylor (.329) lead the squad.

Boy, Oh Boyd: Outfielder BJ Boyd has hit safely in eight consecutive games, matching his season-best hitting streak. During the eight game stretch, Boyd is hitting .324 (11-for-34) with 9 RBI, 3 runs scored, 1 home run and 1 double.

Garcia Knocking Them In: Outfielder/DH Anthony Garcia knocked in another run last night and has 80 RBI on the season - fourth-most in the Pacific Coast League behind only AJ Reed of Fresno (96), Kevin Cron of Reno (85) and Zach Borenstein of Las Vegas (82). Garcia is one of only two hitters in the American Conference side of the PCL in the top nine. Omaha's Frank Schwindel has the seventh-most RBI in the league with 76.
