
Wahoos Participate in Ice Bucket Challenge

The Blue Wahoos front office staff will be participating in the current Ice Bucket Challenge phenomenon that is sweeping the nation and raising awareness for ALS. The challenge was made by team executive Vice President Jonathan Griffith who participated in the challenge following last night's suspended game. Several members of the Blue Wahoos staff will be doused with ice water infront of the Blue Wahoos dugout following the conclusion of last night's suspended game. The suspended contest is scheduled to resume at 5:30 p.m. The game is in the top of the ninth inning with the bases loaded and one out with Pensacola trailing Mobile 4-3.
Additionally, Shereen Samonds will throw out one of the game's ceremonial first pitches prior to Thursday's originally scheduled game. Shereen is from Pensacola and is an Escambia High School and University of South Alabama alum. She was the Public Relations Manager for the Orlando Twins, was on the Atlanta Olympic Games Committee and was General Manager for the Silver Bullets, a women's baseball team.
