Wade Miller to Rehab with Chiefs Sunday

Peoria, IL- The Peoria Chiefs in conjunction with the Chicago Cubs have announced that RHP Wade Miller will rehab at O'Brien Field on Sunday when the Chiefs face Quad Cities at 2:00 PM. The right-hander is expected to start and throw 40-50 pitches.

Miller, who is currently on the 60-day disabled list, began the season with the Cubs. He went 0-1 with a 10.54 ERA before heading to the DL on April 23rd. Miller has already rehabbed at both AA Tennessee and AAA Iowa during the 2007 campaign before being shutdown May 26th. With the Smokies, Miller made one start but did not factor in the decision. He worked 5 2/3 innings and allowed three runs on seven hits. With Iowa in the Pacific Coast League, Miller was 0-1 with a 4.09 ERA in two starts. In his career, Miller is 62-46 with a 4.10 ERA in 147 starts.

In 2006, Miller made two different rehab appearances with the Chiefs. The first stint went from June 22 to July 3 in which he made three starts but did not factor in any decisions. He allowed five runs in ten innings of work. He rejoined the Chiefs for two starts coming on July 31st and August 5th. He again did not factor in a decision but pitched eight scoreless innings over the two starts. Miller finished his rehab with a 0-0 record and a 2.50 ERA before moving on to AA West Tenn and AAA Iowa. He made his Cubs debut in September 2006.

The Chiefs game on Sunday will begin at 2:00 PM against the Swing of the Quad Cities who are affiliated with the St. Louis Cardinals. The first 2000 fans receive Peoria Chiefs Louisville Slugger CAT/FBI baseball bats. Kids can run the bases after the game and get minor league player autographs as part of WHOI Kids Count Sunday.
