
Wade Deals in Nuts 2-1 Loss

Modesto, CA. - Another close loss sends the Modesto Nuts to their seventh straight loss after a 2-1 defeat to the Stockton Ports on Saturday night at John Thurman Field in front of a sellout crowd of 4,517.
Konner Wade (L, 7-8) tossed his second complete game of the year. The righty allowed just two runs, only one earned, over nine innings for the Nuts (62-63; 29-26). Wade struck out four and walked one.
For the Nuts, their lone offense came in the first on a RBI single by Rosell Herrera, but they were shut down the rest of the way. Raul Alcantara started for the Ports (64-61; 27-28) and allowed just the one run over three innings. Kyle Finnegan (W, 8-8) worked four frames out of the bullpen and struck out five and allowed just one hit. Corey Walter (S, 6/7) worked the ninth and got around a lead off error to send the Nuts to the loss.
The Nuts will look to avoid the sweep on Sunday night in the finale of a four-game series against the Ports.
