Blaze Homestand Preview August 24-27
August 23, 2015 - California League (CalL1)
Bakersfield Blaze News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The penultimate homestand of the season begins on Monday, August 24th, and the final battle with the club's nearest rival sets the stage for a week of fantastic beverage-themed promotions!
The homestand opener is scheduled for 7:15pm on Monday, the 24th and may very well be the single most affordable night of entertainment in the history of Bakersfield baseball. As always, the evening is a *Bakersfield Hyundai Dollar Monday*, where admission to the game is just one dollar and hot dogs are just one dollar, as well. And in honor of the "Battle for Highway 99" the Blaze will be selling 99 Golden Ale for 99 cents for 99 minutes after gates open (from 6:15pm to 7:54pm).
That mega-low-priced opener is followed by *ScholarShare Family $20 Tuesday*, which means family fourpacks of tickets are only twenty dollars and include four tickets, four hot dogs and a souvenir program. The "Battle for Highway 99" continues with another 99 minutes of 99-cent 99 Golden Ale, as well, just in case the ticket and dog deals weren't enough.
*Alianza Nonprofit Wednesday* slides into third in the four-day lineup. All season long, fans have donated eletronic waste items on Wednesdays for completely free admission to the stadium. This week, proceeds generated from the recycling of said items will go to HELPS International, a group of doctors and nurses that travels to South America to help treat illness. And, yes, 99 Golden Ale is 99 pennies once again for another hour-39.
The homestand concludes on a classic *Budweiser Throwback Thirsty Thursday*, where fans can enjoy vintage cans of Bud and Bud Light for just one buck. The line moves quickly and the dollar beers are available for two hours after gates open (6:15 to 8:15pm). Roll on down and roll out the barrel.
Blaze fans may also be excited to see Tyler O'Neill, who currently paces the league with 29 homers and is the favorite to win the California League's home run trophy. O'Neill and his teammate, pitcher Dan Altavilla were voted California League Full Season All Stars earlier this week, as well.
