Asheville Tourists News Release

Asheville, NC-- Konner Wade had everything working for him Sunday afternoon. The Tourists starting pitcher tossed seven shutout innings against the Greenville Drive and allowed only two hits, both singles. With the win, the Tourists have won four straight.

All three of Asheville's runs came in the bottom of the fourth inning. Wilfredo Rodriguez, Ryan McMahon, and Correlle Prime hit three straight doubles to begin the inning with Prime's two- bagger bringing home a pair. Ashley Graeter followed with a bunt single moving Prime to third and Raimel Tapia's sacrifice fly to center made it 3-0.

Wade cruised through seven innings before turning the ball over to Carlos Estevez in the eighth.

Estevez retired one batter before giving up a triple to Jordan Weems and exiting with an injury.

Troy Neiman came in and recorded the final two outs of the eighth, but a wild pitch gave the visitors their only run.

In the top of the ninth, Neiman allowed a single and a walk before inducing a game-ending double play off the bat of Jake Romanski. Troy earned his first save of the season.

Jonathon Aro pitched well for Greenville in relief. Aro worked 4.2 innings and allowed only one hit. Offensively for Asheville, Rodriguez led the way by going 3-for-4.

The Tourists and the Drive are back in action on Monday evening with the first pitch set for 7:05pm.
