'14 World Series Trophy Visits Keizer

The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes are excited to announce that the 2014 World Series Trophy will be at Volcanoes Stadium on Saturday, August 29 when the Volcanoes host the Boise Hawks.

Fans can guarantee they will see the trophy by attending a pregame barbecue from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. The event will include all-you-can-eat chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers and ballpark sides and is open to the first 400 fans that attend. The trophy will also be present during the game and can be viewed with any game ticket.

Fans are encouraged to come early to the game as the first hundreds of fans will receive a 2015 Salem-Keizer Volcanoes player card set at the gates.

This will be the third time a World Series Trophy has visited Salem-Keizer - the 2010 and 2012 trophies also made trips to Volcanoes Stadium.

Volcanoes Stadium is where many of the 2014 World Champion Giants began their professional careers. Ryan Vogelsong (Volcanoes '98), Travis Ishikawa (Volcanoes '03), Tim Lincecum (Volcanoes '06), Sergio Romo (Volcanoes '05), Pablo Sandoval (Volcanoes '05), Buster Posey (Volcanoes '08), Brandon Crawford (Volcanoes '08), Joe Panik (Volcanoes '11) and Matt Duffy (Volcanoes '12) all spent time with Salem-Keizer.

Posey, Crawford and Panik, in particular, were named to the 2015 All-Star Game. Former Volcanoes have been featured in 10 of the last 12 All-Star Games.

The night will also mark our fourth and final San Francisco Giants Saturday at the ballpark. Fans are encouraged to dress in orange and black as the Volcanoes celebrate the Giants' 2014 World Championship.
