
Tri-City Drops Second Straight to Spokane

Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
The Tri-City Dust Devils lost another close game 1-0 against the Spokane Indians Monday night at Gesa Stadium. The Dust Devils (0-1 2nd half, 22-17 overall) had six hits compared to the Indians' (1-0 2
nd half, 20-19 overall) one hit on the night. Spokane capitalized on a key bases loaded wild pitch by Sam Holland to score the only run of the game in the ninth inning.
Rod Boykin had another good game with a hit and a stolen base for Tri-City, while Ty France had a double on the night. Peter Van Gansen had a good game as well with two hits.
The ninth hitter in the Spokane lineup, Darius Day, had the only hit in the game for the Indians.
Tri-City starting pitcher Adrian De Horta pitched six innings in his Dust Devils debut. De Horta had a great first night in Tri-City, striking out five batters while allowing just one hit. Sam Holland (1-1) received the loss for the Dust Devils. Holland pitched one inning, giving up the only run of the game while striking out three batters.
Starting pitcher Joe Palumbo pitched three and two thirds innings for Spokane. Palumbo struck out two and gave up five walks while giving up two hits. Tyler Davis was solid in relief of Palumbo, pitching three and one third innings, striking out six batters, and gave up four hits. Jeffrey Springs (1-1) got the win for the Indians. Springs pitched two innings and struck out two batters while not allowing a hit.
The Dust Devils and Indians will play the final game of their three game series tomorrow night at Gesa Stadium. It will be Veteran's Night with an Honor Guard, Richland VFW Post 7952, at the game. Brett Kennedy will get the start for Tri-City while Nick Green will start on the mound for Spokane.
