The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes fall to the Eugene Emeralds in the final game of the four-game series at Volcanoes Stadium 12-1, but still, hold first place in the NWL South Division after Hillsboro lost to the Boise Hawks 6-2 to stay 1 game back of the Volcanoes with 9 days left in the first half of the division.
After Eugene takes a 2-0 lead, Sean Roby hits an RBI single to right field, scoring Jeff Houghtby from third to make it 2-1.
The Volcanoes will play 3 games at Ron Tonkin Field from July 14-16 against the Hillsboro Hops to keep reign over the division.
