Rio Grande Valley Vipers News Release
HIDALGO, TEXAS - The NBA Development League Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today that fans will be able to purchase hot dogs, popcorn and soda for one dollar each starting when doors open at 6:30 for Saturday's nationally televised 7:30 p.m. Vipers home game at Dodge Arena.
"This is the first time any professional sports team in the Rio Grande Valley has had a nationally televised home game and we want to make sure everyone can be a part of it by offering a good meal at an inexpensive price. This is a fantastic value and serves as further proof of our commitment to family-affordable entertainment," Vipers President Brian Michael Cooper said.
The Vipers are encouraging fans to wear red to help to red out the arena. The Vipers will also be selling red t-shirts at the game for $5 each with half of the profits going to Channel 5 News Teach the Children.
One lucky fan will win a Roberto Coin heart necklace ($1,000 value), courtesy of Carats at Jones & Jones.
There will also be a job fair hosted by the Vipers and Star Staffing at Dodge Arena from 2:00-to-5:45 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased through the Vipers at the Pro-Shop at Uptown Plaza on N. 10th St. in McAllen, over the phone (972-1144), or online through Ticketmaster via rgvipers.com.
It will be the first of three Vipers home games broadcast on VERSUS in high definition, followed by games on March 13 and March 27. Locally, VERSUS can be found on Channel 314 in standard definition and channel 1314 in high definition on Time Warner Cable. It can also be found on channel 151 on Dish Network.
