
Vipers Fall Short at Home to Raptors 905 Team

EDINBURG, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (30-15) faced the Raptors 905 (26-18) at home but were unable to come out victorious, falling 113-97 to the Raptors.
Rio Grande found themselves trailing after the first period of action but made a late push to pull within 12 of the Raptors 905 who led 32-20 at the end of the quarter. Houston Rockets assignee, Isaiah Hartenstein sparked the Vipers offense with his early 11 points.
For the Raptors, Toronto two-way player Jordan Loyd racked up nine points, two assists as they paced past the home squad.
More of the same continued at Bert Ogden Arena as the Vipers headed into halftime trailing 47-65.
The Raptors 905 offense was clicking on all cylinders for the first two quarters. Loyd tallied 17 points, four rebounds, four assists at the half. He was joined by Duane Notice who also tallied 17 points on 5 three-pointers.
For RGV Michael Frazier joined the offensive push as he totaled six points, five assists. Rockets assignee Terrence Jones was able to earn nine points before heading into the halftime break.
Unfortunately for the Vipers, they were unable to bounce back and suffered the home loss at the hands of the Raptors 905 squad, 113-97. Hartenstein finished with a double-double by ending his night with 28 points, 17 rebounds, five assists. Jones closed out his night on assignment with 20 points, six rebounds, three assists. The final Rockets assignee tonight with the Vipers, Gary Clark tallied nine points, seven rebounds, two assists.
Loyd was able to close out with 23 points, five rebounds, and six assists. Wade Baldwin IV tallied 25 points, seven rebounds, six assists to help push the Raptors past the Vipers. Josh Adams totaled 23 points and was another key contributor to the offense as he drained four threes on eleven attempts.
