Vipers and Weslaco Library Kick-Off Winter Reading Program Tonight

MCALLEN, TEXAS - The defending NBA Development League champion Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced Tuesday that they are kicking off the Winter Reading Program at the Weslaco Public Library at 5:30 p.m. with Fang, presented by Kidiatric Therapy Services, the Snake Charmers, presented by RGV Careers, who will read a book to children, games and more.

The Weslaco Public Library is located at 525 S. Kansas Ave.

Children participating in the Winter Reading Program are given goals set by the library. 50 children who reach their goals will be chosen to get a free ticket to the Vipers game against the Iowa Energy on February 1 at 7:00 p.m. at State Farm Arena. Five children will be selected to be a part of the pre-game high-five tunnel. All of the children will get to take a group photo on the court before the game.

Parents and members of the community can purchase tickets to the game at the library for $10 each, with $3 per ticket going back to the library as part of their fundraiser.

The Winter Reading Programs runs through December 30.
