TULSA, Okla., December 21, 2010 - Oklahoma City Thunder and Tulsa 66ers basketball game tickets await each blood donor who gives at Oklahoma Blood Institute's (OBI) Tulsa Donor Center, 4601 E. 81st Street, Monday, Dec. 27 through Friday, Dec. 31. Tickets will be given from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at OBI's Holiday Blood Drive supported by the Oklahoma City Thunder and Tulsa 66ers, while supplies last.

"The Thunder and 66ers provide great motivation for good-hearted Oklahomans to give this week, when so many are traveling or involved in holiday activities, and blood donation typically declines," said John Armitage, M.D., Oklahoma Blood Institute president and chief executive officer. "We encourage all in the Tulsa-area to stop by the donor center and give. Then, Oklahomans can ring in the New Year without concerns about sufficient blood supply for those who need it."

Donors will score two free tickets to the Feb. 2 Thunder game versus the New Orleans Hornets and two free tickets to the Tulsa 66ers game on Jan. 7 versus the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Tulsa 66ers is the D-League affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Donors will also receive warm, fleece OBI gloves and health screenings. Donors can register to win a basketball signed by Oklahoma City Thunder players, a basketball signed by Tulsa 66ers players or an eight-person suite to the Jan. 7 Tulsa 66ers basketball game.

OBI provides every drop of blood for patients in 150 medical facilities in Oklahoma. One in three people will need blood at some point in a lifetime. Each donation provides life-saving blood for up to three Oklahomans.

Healthy adults, 16 and older, are encouraged to donate*. Blood can be given every 56 days. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 1-877-340-8777, or visiting www.obi.org .
