New Mexico's Edwards, Tucker Named NBA Development League Co-Performers of the Week

NEW YORK, Dec. 21, 2010 - Shane Edwards and Dar Tucker of the New Mexico Thunderbirds were today named NBA Development League Co-Performers of the Week for games played during the week of Dec. 13.
Edwards and Tucker led the Thunderbirds to a 2-0 record on the week, both victories coming against the Reno Bighorns. In those two games, Tucker averaged 21.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals, while Edwards averaged 19.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists.
In New Mexico's 115-107 win over Reno on Dec. 15, Edwards, a 6-7, 220-pound forward out of Arkansas-Little Rock, who was in camp this fall with the Denver Nuggets, had a team-high 22 points and eight rebounds. Tucker, a 6-4, 205-pound guard out of DePaul, who has played with the Utah Jazz in the NBA Summer League, added 17 points in that game. In the Thunderbirds' 96-89 victory over Reno on Dec. 17, Tucker scored a game-high 25 points, while Edwards added 16 points and 12 rebounds.
This week's honorable mention selections were Austin's Marcus Cousin, who averaged 19.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in two games; Bakersfield's Trey Johnson, who averaged 31.3 points and 6.3 rebounds in three games; Dakota's DeMarre Carroll, who averaged 20.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in two games; Idaho's Luke Jackson, who averaged 22.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists in three games; Iowa's Curtis Stinson, who averaged 23.0 points, 10.5 assists and 5.5 rebounds in two games; Maine's DeShawn Sims, who averaged 19.3 points and 11.0 rebounds in three games; Reno's Patrick Ewing Jr., who averaged 18.6 points and 8.0 rebounds in three games; Rio Grande Valley's Patrick Sullivan, who averaged 22.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in two games; Sioux Falls' Dexter Pittman, who averaged 24.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in two games; Springfield's JamesOn Curry, who averaged 24.5 points and 5.5 assists in two games; and Utah's Brandon Costner, who averaged 18.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in two games.
