Vipers Acquire Walker in 2023 G League Draft

EDINBURG, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the NBA G League Affiliate of the Houston Rockets, selected forward Kyree Walker with the 62nd overall pick in the 2023 NBA G League Draft.

Walker (6-7, 215lbs.) spent time with the Vipers during training camp for the 2022-23 season. He then played overseas with both Aias Evosmou of the Greek HEBA A2 league and the Scarborough Shooting Stars of the Canadian Elite Basketball League. He played in a total of 36 games, between both teams, and averaged 15.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.4 steals.

In October of 2021 the California native tried out with Capital City and spent the 2021-22 campaign with the Go-Go. He averaged 8.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 13.9 minutes in 23 games.

The Vipers tip-off the 2023-24 season on the road on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7:00 p.m. against the Memphis Hustle. On Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. the Vipers will play its first home game of the season against the Osceola Magic at Bert Ogden Arena. To purchase tickets, visit www.rgvipers.com.
