
Indiana Makes Two Selections in 2023 NBA G League Draft

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Indiana Mad Ants, the NBA G League affiliate of the Indiana Pacers, selected two players in the 2023 NBA G League Draft.
With the 13th pick of the second round, the Mad Ants selected Stephan Hicks. Hicks has played multiple seasons with the organization, last playing for the Mad Ants during the 2021-22 season. Since Hicks last appeared in the NBA G League with the Mad Ants, he has played in Taiwan with the Formosa Taishin Dreamers and, most recently, for the TaiwanBeer HeroBears of the T1 League.
During his time with the Mad Ants previously, Hicks set multiple franchise records and in his 224 games in a Mad Ants jersey, is the franchise's all-time leader in wins (118). Hicks also remains the Mad Ants all-time full season leader in rebounds (1,245), offensive rebounds (418) and defensive rebounds (827). Hicks is ranked second all-time in games played as a Mad Ant (224), three pointers made (237) and total points (2,936). Hicks attended Cal State Northridge from 2010-2015, finishing 8th all-time in Big West Conference scoring. In 2019, he received a NBA call-up via a 10-day contract with the Indiana Pacers.
With the the 20th pick of the second round, Indiana selected David Sloan. Sloan last played for the Caledonia Gladiators of the British BBL, where he averaged 17.7 points and 4.8 assists over 37 games in the 2022-23 season. Sloan finished his college career in 2022 at East Tennessee State, where he averaged 12.6 points and five assists per game as a senior.
Prior to his two seasons at East Tennessee State, Sloan played one season at Kansas State. He started his college career with two seasons at John A. Logan, a junior college program in Illinois.
Indiana Mad Ants training camp will begin on Monday, October 30. Opening night for the Mad Ants will be Saturday, November 11 as they visit the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
