
SLC Stars Take Two Selections in 2023 NBA G League Draft

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, today selected guard Karolis Lukosiunas and forward Isaac Johnson in the 2023 NBA G League Draft.
Lukosiunas (6-5, 210, Lithuania) was selected with the 10th pick in the first round of the NBA G League Draft after playing for Zalgiris (Lithuania) for the past four seasons (2019-2023). The Vilnius, Lithuania native appeared in 40 games last season, averaging 5.8 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assist in 14.3 minutes per game. Lukosiunas was a member of Team Lithuania in the 2023 World Cup.
Johnson (6-9, 212,Appalachian State) joins the Stars after being selected with the 48th overall pick following a four-year career at Appalachian State (2016-20). The Charlotte, NC., native appeared in 124 games (99 starts) for the Mountaineers, pulling down averages of 8.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.1 steals in 27.2 minutes per contest.
The Salt Lake City Stars' training camp begins on Monday, Oct. 30. The team opens the 2023-24 campaign on Saturday, Nov. 11 in Santa Cruz, Calif. against the Santa Cruz Warriors. The Stars' first home game at the Maverik Center will be on Monday, Nov. 13 against the G League Ignite.
