Victoria's Goldie Named In Glas Co Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Victoria right wing Wes Goldie is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for Mar. 17-23.

The 28 year old had four goals and six points to help the Salmon Kings go 3-0-0 against Utah and move into a tie for first place in the West Division.

The London, Ontario native scored a season-high four points on two power-play goals and two assists in a 7-3 win on Mar. 19 and he scored the game-winning goal in a 4-0 victory on Mar. 21. He ended the week with a goal in a 3-2 shootout win on Mar. 22 to extend his goal streak to three games (4g).

Goldie leads the Salmon Kings and is tied for second in the ECHL with 36 goals and he is second on the team and tied for third in the ECHL with 15 power-play goals.

The 6-foot-1 and 200-pound Goldie set team records in 2006-07 with 41 goals and 74 points in 72 regular season games and he led the team in the Kelly Cup Playoffs with six goals and eight points in six games.

In his seventh ECHL season, Goldie has 325 points (191g-134a) and 303 penalty minutes in 404 regular season games and 30 points (21g-9a) and 20 penalty minutes in 36 Kelly Cup Playoff games with Pee Dee and Victoria.

On behalf of Wes Goldie, a case of pucks will be donated to a Victoria area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, In Glas Co has donated more than 19,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
