Victoria Seals News Release

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Seals announce that they have traded Shane Cronin (INF) to the Calgary Vipers in exchange for Matt Edgecombe (INF). The deal has been completed through the Golden Baseball League office, and Edgecombe will appear on the roster for tonight's contest at Royal Athletic Park.

"This is a deal that brings a big bat into our lineup while also giving Shane a chance to play on an everyday basis for the Vipers," said Seals Field Manager Kip Gross.

Edgecombe, a graduate of San Francisco State University, joins Victoria following 34 games with the defending champion Vipers this season. Carrying a .321 batting average, the Walnut Creek, California product has posted 34 hits and 17 runs batted in this season.
