Victoria, BC - Heading in to another weekend homestand at Royal Athletic Park, the Victoria Seals announce that the first two days of action against the Yuma Scorpions have been re-scheduled to double-header matchups. The games, set for Friday and Saturday evening, will now begin at 5:05 p.m. (PT) and feature two seven-inning contests each night in order to rectify scheduling conflicts on behalf of the Scorpions. Best of all, a ticket for just one evening's game is worth admission for both halves of the double-header!
Kicking off the action with another installment of Flight Centre Fly Away Fridays, the series opener against Yuma will feature a bonus chance for fans to win a Helijet trip to Vancouver! Game one of the double-header is set for 5:05 p.m. (PT), with the second game expected to start around 8:05 p.m. (PT). Contestants will also be entered in the season-ending grand prize draw of a tropical vacation for two courtesy of Flight Centre!
On Saturday night the Seals will play host to their first annual Paint the Park Pink Night, presented by Fisgard Capital, /A Vancouver Island and KOOL FM. The first pitch will be at 5:05 p.m. (PT), while game two of the double-header will get underway at approximately 8:05 p.m. (PT). In between games the Seals will auction off their limited edition pink and black jerseys, with all proceeds going towards the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, BC/Yukon Region.
The Seals will also offer a special discount to fans who purchase advance tickets to Paint The Park Pink Night - online at www.victoriaseals.ca or by phone at (250) 220-7777. Simply use the discount code 'PINK' under Pre-Sales & Promotions to receive $2.00 off your ticket to the contests against Yuma.
A matinee game will wrap up the five-game series against the Scorpions when the two teams clash at 1:35 p.m. (PT) on Thrifty Foods Family Sunday. Kids will have the chance to run the bases with Seamore the Seal after the game, and all fans are invited down to the field to mingle with the team and enjoy fresh-baked cookies from Thrifty Foods!
Don't forget that the Seals will head over to the Shark Club to join supporters for a Post-Game Party on Sunday night, beginning at 6:00 p.m. (PT). Fans will have the chance to pay their favourite Seal in a game of Wii Baseball, while taking advantage of free pool throughout the evening. Shark Club will also be offering a raffle and plenty of other prizes for those in attendance
Victoria returns to Bruce Hurst Field for the second game of the series tonight, a 6:05 p.m. (PT) start time. The contest will not be broadcast on the Victoria Seals Radio Network, but will fans can still follow the action online via www.victoriaseals.ca.
