The Orange County Flyers will get their opportunity to face the "Knuckle Princess" this week. The Chico Outlaws have announced that female knuckleball pitcher Eri Yoshida, the first woman to pitch professionally in two countries, will make her fifth start of the year when the Flyers take on the Outlaws at Nettleton Stadium on Friday night. Yoshida is 0-1 with a 6.60 ERA in 15 innings of work over four games this season. The Flyers and Outlaws are in the middle of seven consecutive games against each other, with three games coming up in Chico after the four-game set in OC wraps up Wednesday.

Tonight the Orange County Flyers send Jake Renshaw to the mound against Garret Holleran for Chico in the third game of a four-game series at "The Station" on Baseball Bingo Tuesday. Tonight, fans have a chance to win a fully-catered party in the Flyers luxury suite, and first pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm. The Train Gang is coming off a 12-8 victory over the Outlaws on Monday night in a game that saw 35 hits between the two teams.

LAST NIGHT'S GAME: The Orange County Flyers outlasted the Chico Outlaws, 12-8, in a 35-hit parade on Monday night. OC improved to 2-1 in the second half of the season behind the hot bat of Tyler Keeble, who went 4-for-6 with two RBI and 3 runs scored. Orange County captured the lead in the second inning, when OC starting pitcher Jesse Smith drew a bases-loaded walk, and Steve Boggs knocked a sacrifice fly for a 2-1 advantage. After Chico tied the game, 2-2, in the top of the third, the Flyers responded when Outlaws' started Kris Honel walked the bases loaded to begin the bottom of the third. Derek Perren added a sac fly for a 3-2 Flyers lead.

Smith, making his eighth start on the mound for the Flyers, protected the lead during his six innings of work, allowing two runs despite 11 hits while striking out four Outlaws for his second win of the season. Orange County increased their lead to 5-2 with a pair of RBI-singles from Tyler Keeble and Keith Ginter, chasing Honel from the game in the fourth inning. Honel, an All-Star this season, took his first loss of the season giving up five runs on five hits with eight walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.

The Flyers made the rout official with four runs off reliever Rusty Jones in the sixth inning. Keeble scored his second run of the game on an errant throw from right field on a Sergio Pedroza double. Keith Ginter's sac fly cashed Pedroza from third. David Harris drew a walk and Perren singled before three straight wild pitches from Jones scored them both during Alex Jamieson's at-bat, increasing the Flyers lead to 9-2.

After three more Flyers runs, Chico tighten the score with six runs in the top of the eighth off former Major Leaguer Cha-Seung Baek, before Mike Koons came on to pitch the final 1 and 2/3 innings to finish the game for the Flyers. The Flyers gave up a season-high 20 hits to the Outlaws.

The Flyers are near the end of a string of eight home games in seven days with the final four games against Chico wrapping up a string of 17-straight home games. Wednesday OC will host a special day game (12:05pm first pitch). Tickets are available online by calling the Flyers front office at (714) 526-8326.
