The Salmon Kings began week two of their home stint in front of 4,699 fans for a Friday night clash with the clawing Long Beach Ice Dogs. Kiel McLeod scored his 27th goal of the season to give Victoria the 1-0 lead at 8:36 into the first period, and Long Beach's Alexei Smirnov tapped in the tying goal with 26 seconds left, despite 18 saves in the first period alone by Goaltender Bryan Bridges. Victoria kicked off the second period with a breakaway goal from Wes Goldie, and he nabbed another marker with 2:51 remaining in the frame. In the third period, Jordan Krestanovich posted his 13th goal of the season and Milan Gajic rounded out the scoring with a powerplay goal from the point with 15 seconds remaining. Victoria 5-1

DOG POUND Wes Goldie earned his 150th ECHL goal last night...is two goals away from his 250th pro goal...is on a seven-game point streak...leads the National Conference in goals (37)...has tallied 16 points (10g, 6a) in eight games versus the Ice Dogs this season...Jordan Krestanovich has 11 points (5g, 6a) in eight games versus the Ice Dogs this season...Bryan Bridges has won the last three meetings versus Long Beach for a combined 1.66 GAA...earned pro career bests in two of those games (0.977 and 0.971 save percentage)...Steve Lingren is on a three-game point streak...has two assists and is +3 over last three games against Long Beach...Kiel McLeod has scored a goal in last four games against Long Beach, including a season-high four point night on January 3rd...Ryan Wade posted season-high three assists last night.
