Vernarsky Reassigned to Providence

The Providence Bruins announced this afternoon that center Kris Vernarsky has been reassigned to the team by the Boston Bruins, and left wings Martin Samuelsson and Rob Zamuner have been recalled.

Vernarsky, a 21-year-old native of Detroit, Michigan, was recalled on January 14 and played in three scoreless games with Boston, including today's 5-2 win over the New York Rangers. The second-year center has 5-3-8 totals and 26 PIM in 27 games with Providence.

Samuelsson, who turns 22 on Sunday, began the season with Boston, playing in three games before being reassigned to Providence on October 23. He was recalled again by Boston on January 9 and played in one game before returning to Providence two days later. He has no points in four games with Boston, and 1-5-6 totals in 29 games with the P-Bruins.

Zamuner, 34, was reassigned to Providence on January 1 after posting 3-3-6 totals and 10 PIM in 27 games with Boston. He had 0-1-1 totals in four games with the P-Bruins.

The Bruins visit the Hartford Wolf Pack on Wednesday, January 21 at 7:05 p.m. All the action will be broadcast live on WDDZ AM-550. The Bruins return home to host the Manchester Monarchs on Dunkin' Donuts Mug Night, Friday, January 23 at 7:05 p.m. All fans in attendance will receive a free Providence Bruins mug, courtesy of Dunkin' Donuts. Friday's game will also be the first of four to be televised live on COX-3.
