Veilleux and Payerl Assigned to Nailers

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - It was announced today that forwards Adam Payerl and Keven Veilleux have been assigned to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton by the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Payerl, 21, skated in five games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, potting his first professional goal on Oct. 28 at Hershey. He spent the last season with the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League, setting career highs with 22 goals, 47 points and 106 penalty minutes over 61 games.

Payerl signed an amateur try-out agreement with the Penguins on Apr. 10, registering an assist over two games.

Veilleux, 23, has yet to appear in any game action since suffering an injury in an exhibition contest last September that cost him his entire 2011-12 season. The St-Georges-de-Beauce, QC-native posted 12 goals, 24 assists and 122 penalty minutes over 66 games in 2010-11.
